Year Full of Changes Number One

Over the next few days, I am going to be writing blog posts of the changes we are making as a family in the New Year. I am very excited to make 2009 a GREAT Year!

Number One:

I actually made this change in 2008, but stepping it up even more to make my goal by my birthday in May. I am very excited to share with you my weight loss over the past few months. I treated myself to a new hair do last night since I have done so well with my weight loss. I told hubbs back in November that I wanted to go shorter with my hair but wanted to lose some weight in my face first. TADA my new hair (I just love it):

Drumroll now…. Here is a picture of me back last August, 2008. We were at our local theme park. I honestly couldn’t believe this picture but glad I had it to show off my weight loss.

Here is the before of me 25 pounds heavier:

Here is me now 25 pounds lighter:

I can tell my legs, my stomach and my face are definitely smaller. I am very super excited to continue my weight loss and be to my ultimate goal in May :) .

Weight Watchers Huge Milestone

9pounds

I was sooooo excited about tonight’s Weigh in Number 4. I am shouting from the roof tops, I am below 200 pounds!!!! Did you hear that? I am below 200 pounds :) :) :) .

When hubbs and I first got together I was 132 pounds… I just know I can get back down to that. I have not been below 200 pounds since September 2006. When I weighed in… and she told me my weight loss… I immediately said out loud I am below 200 pounds and turned around and looked at my best pal Cindy and just smiled really big to her. Thanks Cindy for doing this journey with me.

I am so excited tonight and can not rub the smile away off of my face. Just had to share!

Weight Watchers Pumpkin Muffins

So we came in this morning from having a hike through the snowy woods and decided we would make another great weight watchers recipe. Thanks to one of my BFF Cindy for this recipe. It is so good and such a hit. Don’t mind my hair (you can tell I was wearing a toboggan). M didn’t even want to take her coat off either ;) . Enjoy!

Weight Watchers Weigh In 1

Here we go….I am a little nervous but know I have done so well by sticking to my points allowed each day of the past week. I really hope I have lost. It will make me so giddy.

I was looking back on pictures. I lost my weight sooooooo good after M. Back in size 6′s by the time she was 6 months old. Here is one picture of just my face, but you can tell how great I looked.

I got pregnant with my wonderful bundle of joy number 2 L and from the get go, just couldn’t lose the weight. Here I am when she was 8 weeks old in the hospital with RSV. This picture shows how big I am, but it makes me so sad because M was sick as well and needed me just as much as L did.

See the difference in my face? UGGGH. I am shooting for my face to go back to the first picture. I can do it I can do it I can do it!!!

I tried a great Weight Watcher’s recipe tonight. You may want to try it. Each slice is only 1 point.

1 box of cake mix (I used Orange Dream, you can use just plain white cake mix)
1 can of diet Sunkist drink
2 egg whites.

Bake as the temperature on the cake box.

Let the cake cool and top with fat free whipped cream.

It was a big hit here tonight… everyone enjoyed it. I didn’t feel guilty eating it either since it was so low in points YAY :)

So What If She Likes Peanuts

It may seem like I am boasting, when I say L at 4 years old has never had a soft drink in her life and does not want one either.  She would rather have water, milk or juice. Mostly water and milk. I am just a proud mom that she would rather have those drinks that soft drinks. It is also her own will that she does not like soft drinks. She just has no desire for them.

Also, another thing she will choose peanuts or peanut butter over candy or chocolate. We were at the grocery store today, and the cashier just thought it was so weird because she chose peanuts in the checkout line instead of candy.

Being healthy really plays a lot on my minds, because when I was growing up we did not eat the healthiest things. We just ate whatever we could get our hands on to get by and unfortunately it was junk a lot. So by the time I was in 8th grade, I turned to starving myself to get off the weight of me. I got down to a very dark time of just skin and bones. I totally do not want that for my girls. I know self image means a lot to girls, so I want to raise my girls on more healthier options.

I am losing weight the healthy way this time, and not going to starve myself. Even though it has entered my mind to do that, I want to prove a good example to my girls. So water and peanuts it is for this diet HAHAHAHA… at least that is what L says ;) .

Weight Watchers Here We Come

And yes… I could care less we are entering the Holiday season with all the most awesome food ever. I am hitting the weight watchers train with my buddy Cindy. I know we can motivate each other to get to our goals where we need to be.

After trying on about 6 different dresses/skirts this morning and seeing my body so unflattering, yea I think that’s all it took :( . I’ll keep you posted on how it goes. I’m actually pretty darn excited about this as I know so many people around me that has had such great results.

Let’s get this train started… oh and let me put it in overdrive so it can go super lightning fast WOOT WOOT :)

Spring Weight Off – Week 6

mom weight loss

Here we are at week 6. I cannot believe I have not lost one pound over the last two weeks. I haven’t gained either, but still. I have been DOING SO GOOD! It just irritates me so bad. I’m not going to let it get me down. I am in this to lose and I will just have to change up some things this week to see what is going on. I mean come on… I didn’t even eat any of my birthday cake HA!

Please leave me some encouragement and let me know this is just normal to go through this weight loss process. I am still doing good right?

How is everyone else doing? We are in this together remember. Hopefully it will be a little warmer tomorrow so the girls and I can do our walks again. It has been really really cold so we haven’t got to get outside much.

The Spring Weight Off – Week 5

mom weight loss

I am finally able to get online and blog. Hooray for this! The move went ok. I got teary eyed quite a few times driving up here to NC from Florida. Also it didn’t help matters that Lyndsee my youngest was vomiting on the whole trip and it continued till yesterday. I believe we have figured out the culprit and hopefully we can get her on the mends soon!

I have to say… I have been doing so good with my healthy eating. It hasn’t been easy to not touch temptations that I see some family members eat, but I just go get my water or rice cakes!

I know my pants are getting looser as well but there is no scale here at my parent’s house, so hopefully I can get one Friday. Today I walked 2 miles with the girls and then this evening one mile by myself. Its all downhill going down then uphill coming back so its quite a workout. I was proud and hopefully can keep this up.

So link up everyone.. here we are in week 5. I want to hear how all of you all doing. I know I do wish the pounds would go away quicker, but they say losing it at a steady pace is a healthier so I keep telling myself that.

Let’s hear it moms!
