Ice Cream Trucks Still…
By Jen | July 30, 2007
Do you remember hearing those glorious musical sounds coming from the ice cream truck in the summers as a child? Man you just don't know how my brother and I would leap out into our front yard when we would hear the music. We would go grab our quarters inside and be waiting eagerly with all the neighborhood kids and fight who could get their ice cream first ;). It has been so long since I heard that particular music until……
TODAY! That's right… it was like I was reliving my childhood today when I was outside with my girls riding bicycles. Madisyn couldn't figure out why I was getting so happy then I had to explain to her. So we ran in grabbed some dollar bills (notice I say dollar bills now instead of quarters) and came flying back out the door. The girls were all so giddy sitting on the front porch eating their ice cream's. I am hoping we will be able to start this tradition with my girls just as my parents started the tradition with my brother and I.
Do you still have ice cream trucks in your town? I would love to know as I thought it was a time of the past.

WE had them when I lived in Richmond and I’m not sure who got more excited… me or the kids…

Jennifer, there’s still an ice cream truck here in Lenoir. We passed it the other day. See, even MORE reasons to COME BACK HOME! LOL

The closest thing we have to ice cream trucks here in my town is the Schwans man. I’ve never had ice cream off a real ice cream truck!
