I always find it helpful to have a vacation or some sort of camp planned around the middle of summer to help break it up. Last year my kids went to a zoo camp for a week which not only gave them something to look forward to, but also gave them tons to talk about after it was done.

to beat the summer boredoms i went to the museum this weekend – hehe, not a very “summerly” activity but it was air conditioned and very nice nonetheless. sometimes the random things are the most fun! and anything beats sitting in the office typing through documents and dealing with computers all day! justine@hostgator.com

Jen, the kids are working on Handwriting without Tears this summer. It's good practice for Bug who needs to work on his letter formation and for Princess who'll be doing a lot more writing in first grade. They are both enjoying it and it still keeps their little minds and hands learning. This workbook sounds great. Princess needs something to do while we are waiting at therapy 4 times a week. We have been keeping busy by heading to our local beach, reading, borrowing videos from the library, meeting up with friends, hosting get-togethers, heading to the local farms, using our bounce house. Wow, I think I need a vacation after all that.
