OMG! My baby Lyndsee. We had a coop preschool parent meeting this morning at the preschool. We got done and it was still a hour before Madisyn’s class let out so I thought Lyndsee and I would go run some errands.
Lyndsee and I start to walk out into the parking lot to go to our van. It was a breakfast meeting so I had biscuits in one hand diaper bag on one shoulder and Lyndsee’s hand in my other hand. She kept pulling away from me but she stayed right there with me. We were walking by this other van right behind it and I had no idea somebody was in it. My baby girl was right there at the wheel and I see the van backing up. I yelled NO NO NO and there was another mom beside the van and she yelled. The mom in the van automatically stopped when she heard us but WHAT IF. OMG My baby. Everything was right in slow motion it seems. I hurriedly swooped her up of course. The mom in the van was shaking, I was shaking and kept kissing Lyndsee.
The mom kept apologizing but it was like I kept tuning everything out just thinking what if she wouldn’t have stopped in time. Lyndsee was right there at her tire and she is the same height as the tire so obviously Lyndsee was in her blind spot. I do not blame the mom at all and I told her that. I just wish now all the vehicles had back up sensors. I never understood how people ran over their kids on accident but now I DO. OMG I really want to push back up sensors somehow now.
I am really hugging my girls tight now. I called my dad and he said Jen there is a angel over Lyndsee and I honestly believe that with all my heart.
I just wanted to post this so we can all watch a little closer from now on.
