No you read that title right… don't take a double take! I have never had no desire to even step a foot into an airport until today! My step-daughter lived with us for the summer and we had to fly her back to NC today. I'm very sad about this :(. Contrary to the myth of step mommy and step daughter relationships.. we have a really good relationship. She even comes to me more than she does her dad. It wasn't always like this 
, but we have crossed that bridge and are on the very good side of the bridge 
.
So we head out today at lunch to the Orlando airport… as we are pulling in… I'm blown away by how big the airport is. Then when we get inside I am even more blown away. I assumed (what I get for assuming) is that you would just board a plane and that's it. Boy was I wrong. There was like a mini mall in there and even a hotel inside the airport LOL. I don't think we have had more fun as a family in a long time.. just goofing off in the airport. It was good for my heart as I wanted to keep my thoughts off of my step-daughter leaving. Once she went through those gates and they wouldn't let me go back with her I just went and sat down with tears welling up in my eyes. I love that girl just as she was my own and my beautiful daughters love their big sister as well. So yes I am here to prove a step mommy and a step daughter CAN get along hehe.
