We are in the third week of school and it couldn’t be going any better. I just love listening to the stories each afternoon when she comes in. She has me rolling most days, because she shakes her little hips and is just so matter of fact. Here is a couple for this week.
“Mom, why does Mrs. XXXX (her assistant teacher) keep telling me to throw this away for her, or go pick that up for her. Mom she is sitting down so why can’t she just do it herself. That’s just crazy to me.”
This cracked me up so much. Madisyn is a very HUGE helper here at home. Always wants to help me clean, cook, fold laundry etc. So when she told me this, I was like but yea Madisyn you love to help. But I found out its taking time away from her friends and center time ๐ AHHH HAAA.
Me: Madisyn did you go eat breakfast this morning?
Madisyn: Yes, mommy I did.
Me: Ok, well did you walk in there with anyone?
Madisyn: No, mommy I just went in by myself and got my food and went to sit down. Zachary was sitting there and was so happy to see me. He wants to be my boyfriend he said.
Me: Your what???
Ok, calm down mommy and take a deep breath. She had a good comeback. She said “but mommy I know boyfriends are for when you get older, not for when I’m little.” Phew!!
School is definitely making for some interesting conversations, but I love it so much. The smiles on her face each day is making me so happy that she is enjoying her first year of school so much.
Tomorrow is picture day at school and I put her hair in rollers tonight for the very first time. She looked so darn cute, so I’ll close this post with my roller hair girl :).

Those are some great conversations. And she is adorable in her rollers. Can’t wait to see it tomorrow. So I take it she stopped talking about chopping her hair off then?

Aren’t they too much! My son’s in kindergarten, too. When he mentions “girlfriends”, I must make a funny face because he then quickly adds – “she’s just a friend that’s a girl, Mom, DUH”.

That is too cute! Andrew tells me all the time he has girlfriends and stuff. Then I pretend to be upset and/or jealous and just laughs and laughs. I am NOT looking forward to the day he really does have a girlfriend. Sigh.

Hi! Iโm a research assistant currently doing research on the use and influence of mommy blogs and found your blog to be one of the top fifty blogs that came up from an online search. Iโm looking to find out generally the characteristics of those whose blogs are identified in the top fifty blogs. Can I email you a quick demographic survey? Sorry I have to post this as a comment. I donโt see your email address anywhere. Feel free to email me if you donโt want to post it.
Thanks for your time! And for your blog work!

Saw you mentioned over on Mom of 3 Girls. Glad to see things improve by week 3. Seriously, I barely made it through this past week. In fact, the jury is still out on whether I have. T-Daddy would definitely vote in the negative.
I honestly had to write three posts on the first days blues just to avoid the cost of therapy. My youngest boy did great and had a fun week, but I am a mess. Fortunately, it was time to go grocery shopping today, so I bought me some ice cream and am good to go ;)!
