Together 8 years… Married for 2 Years! Happy Anniversary to the love of my life Scott :) .

It all started here on the blog and then a year later I blogged about how could we honestly make it through that first year? Now, here we are January 2010 and I have to say the 2nd year of marriage ROCKED. We had the best year.

Random Thoughts of 2 Years of Marriage

We are much cuter since we are carrying around less pounds now ;)

We still had our tiffs, but we didn’t let it stop us from still showing our love for each other ;)

He is really my best friend!

We can so tell when we are pushing each other’s buttons, and will give each other that smirk ;)

He has made me into a huge coffee drinker ;)

He will have coffee waiting for me in the mornings!

He is such a great hands on daddy that loves taking the girls to Chick-Fil-A ;)

He is so humorous and sometimes he can be over the top but I still love him ;)

He hates talking on the phone!

He loves Fox News ;)

He hates when I let the gas get to right on empty ;)

He loves to do laundry (haha or maybe he just wants clean clothes to wear!)

He is my biggest fan with my work ;)

He builds my self-esteem up so much since I don’t think I’m all that ;)

He loves God and shares his faith openly!

He loves to sneak up behind me and give me the biggest hug (heart melts)

He loves to drive (thank goodness since I love to travel)

He loves to surprise me with my special foods!

He LOVES my cooking ;)

But Most Important: He LOVES me and our girls!

Happy Anniversary Scott. What, Where and How will our 3rd year of marriage will bring us? I for one, cannot wait to find out.

I love you Honey Bunny (he so hates me calling him that). Here’s to an awesome year :::cheers:::

And This is What December Is All About Right

You know this is truly the most wonderful time of year, but even in all the hustle and bustle we simply cannot forget why we celebrate this time of year.

This month has been a month of craziness for sure. As most of you know, I took on the task of going back to school full-time since the girls were both in school (something I am debating now having them in school). So the last two weeks have been up very late nights studying and putting the finalizing touches on end of semester projects. I am so thrilled and happy that I made it to the end of semester. I cannot say it was easy, but I can say I put my whole strength and heart into my work. Well, I can say that work has definitely paid off. I have completed the semester with a 4.0 GPA. I am a bit of perfectionist when it comes to work and I will stress and stress about things. I have cried some tears this semester but now, I can sit back and breathe. I can enjoy the season. I can celebrate with my family Jesus Christ’s birth. I can enjoy seeing the girls smiles on Christmas morning. I can enjoy time with my extended family. I can just take it all in now without any worries or stress. Now… that my friends is what December is all about.

M was in a Christmas play at church last Sunday. I will share video and pictures of that soon. It went soooo well and was sooo funny and cute! I want to leave you though now with this short video. It will move you for sure. This was an act put on right after the play. Enjoy :)

Its Not Always About The Material Things

During this holiday season, I want to make sure we are all remembering the reason for the season… Jesus :) . I try to instill this in my girls and two separate events in the past week has assured me… I must be doing something right!

M came home last week with all her Thanksgiving projects she had done at school.  One of the projects brought tears to my eyes. I’ll post a picture here:

Photobucket

Look at all she is thankful for! I had to show this off to everyone in our family. I have always said she is such an old soul and really cares so much for others. She is thankful for Family, Dad, Mom, God, Jesus, Freedom, Home and Food. Is that not awesome? There are no material things listed and that just warms my heart so much.

Then, this leads me to this past weekend. I was creating all my lists for my family this year for Christmas. I asked L what she would like for Christmas this year. She sat there for a minute and put her little fingers on her chin, like she was thinking. She said ummm… then said I know Mommy. All I want for Christmas this year is for daddy to love me, mommy to love me, my sister to love me and my doggy to love me. Oh I just swooped her right up and hugged her so tight. There was not one item she could tell me she wanted… all she wants is love. Is that now just the coolest thing?

I love my girls so much and often wonder if I am doing a good job at this mommy gig… but I think I couldn’t receive a more better answer than this do you?

So remember as we go into this wonderful Holiday Season, its not all about the money. It’s all about the thought and love!

Day 9 Thankful for Our Veterans

Photobucket

Today I am so thankful for our Veterans. Their jobs are one of the hardest jobs out there, yet they go proudly and fight for us each and everyday to make sure we can maintain our freedom. Folks, now that is a true hero. They care so much about us and our country that they are putting their life on the line each and everyday! I am so thankful and proud of you Veterans. You all are always in our prayers and thoughts all during the year. I’m so glad we can dedicate this time to you so we all can show you our support.

M’s school had “Bring a Vet Day” to school last  Friday. The first grade classes put this together each year and M was so excited that her classroom was homebase and that she would get to greet and meet the veterans first. Her teacher gave her a speaking part for this big day and she was so eager to learn it. Once she learned it, she was repeating it to us all day long. Last Friday morning, the excitement in her voice and the sparkle in her eyes was just priceless. She could not wait to get to school and see how her classroom had transformed into Vet central and be able to meet all the Vets. I just love her soul because she said mommy I just want to tell them thank you! They have been talking in class all about the different divisions of the  military and I believe she is so excited to get to meet each branch. I’m so thankful her school did this and to bring more awareness to our Veterans.

I will post a video tomorrow of her doing a song in sign language for the Veterans. She definitely made us proud :) .

Thank you Veterans for serving our country PROUDLY!!! We love and adore you all.

Easter Such a Blessing Story

What a wonderful Easter celebration we had yesterday. Our Lord is risen. Amen!

We had a wonderful church service that left chills up and down my arms. We then proceeded to the Parkway for a quick stop before we headed over to my parents for lunch and Easter egg hunt. It was a downright hoot when the adults hid the eggs then it came down to it the last few eggs could not be found and the adults could not find their own eggs they hid! We were all laughing so hard.

After the egg hunt, my wonderful bff came over with her family for some great homemade ice cream and more Easter egg hunts. We laughed, we smiled, we talked and we laughed some more. It was almost 8:00pm before we even knew it. All good things must come to an end right? Well only for the night :) Many more fun nights ahead since warmer weather is coming.

We got the girls home, baths done and they were asleep within 5 minutes of hitting their pillows. Here are some pictures of our day.

What Are The Best Wii Games

We revealed our family Valentine’s gift yesterday evening. The look on the girls face as we were walking out of the store was just priceless. M said “Mom, I dreamed that we would get a Wii… it is coming true.” So cute.

Yes… we finally have our own Wii after having so much fun with our great friends Wii. I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t excited too. I just love how this is such a family game and you actually move around and not sit still while playing.

What are some must have games that your family enjoys playing? We went ahead and bought the Wii play game set so we could have the extra remote.

How does everyone like the Wii Fit? Should we get it? Love to hear your thoughts :)

Take Time To Unglue from Online World

These past few months, I have really put in some hours working to help keep our family afloat. Even though I have been a work at home mom since early 2003, it doesn’t mean we are eating bon bons all day ;) . You are actually trying to keep up with work and your family. So essentially it is two full time jobs.

Well this weekend, was my full weekend off. I shut off the computer from reality and just spent time with my family. I stayed away from the computer so I would not get sucked in. I needed this reconnection with my family and disconnection from work. Let me tell you it felt sooooooo good. I would look over and see my computer screen black and it just would bring a smile to my face :) .

Friday night we celebrated my big girl’s 6th birthday with just the family since she had her friend party last weekend.

Photobucket

Here was her cake from her friend party. I bet you can’t guess what it is? ;)

Photobucket

And mommy dearest here made the family cake. Let me tell you… It was a fat free cake from a recipe I had from weight watchers. It was a HUGE HIT. Madisyn would not even eat her birthday cake from last week and she ate 2 big slices from her mommies. What does that tell you? :)

Photobucket

Photobucket

All in all, I think she had a wonderful birthday. She said it was the best. That definitely warmed my heart :) .

Saturday, we headed out with a BFF and did some last minute Christmas shopping. It was sooooo crowded but so worth it to get away for the day and just relish in the wonderful Christmas Spirit. We all had a good time I believe.

The night was ended with my little family all curled up on the couch watching the DVD Christmas Shoes. We all did not move the whole movie. It was intense but really great movie to watch this time of year. I just love my little family.

Sunday was spent just baking goodies for the big Christmas day, cooking a deer roast that my hubbs was oh so kind to get for us this week ;) . It turned out delicious. We ended the night with going through our town’s resort of Christmas lights.

You know I feel like my family needed this reconnection from mommy working so much. We need to unglue from the online world every once in awhile and just focus time on our families. They need us more than the online world needs us. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the online world and do miss when I am away. It’s just good to take a break as well.

Merry Christmas to all my online buddies. I do love you all and Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas filled week!

Movie for the Holidays

There is something about this time of year, that I just love to cuddle up and sit down and watch a great movie with my family.

A wonderful movie was brought to my attention and it happens to be an independent movie.Delgo

Here is a never before seen image from the movie.

029

As you can see the  movie is animated which would make a great hit for the whole family. From watching a short trailer of the movie, I can tell the movie will keep you on your toes. It is very fast paced, and full of action and adventure.

I really like the morals in the story as well. For example, in one part of the movie, two people have to put their differences aside in order to combine together to take an enemy down. I will not say anymore than that, as I do not want to spoil it.

You will hear some very familiar voices in the movie such as, Freddie Prinze Jr., Jennifer Love Hewitt, Burt Reynolds and Kelly Ripa to just name a few.

Overall, I think this is a great movie to go out and watch with your family. It’s fun, it will keep your attention, and the animation is such great detail in the movie. To learn more read here: Delgo It will be released in theaters on December 12… so let me know if you all plan on going to see it!
